The dress I created for my certificate diplima: KURO-HANA
I had to create a dress which I enriched with a repeated structure.
Inspired by the Japanese culture, my idea was to create a scale-like pyramidal structure similar to the element named KOZANE seen on the samurai armors. I placed them on both left and right side of the garment, concealing them with incredibly long lace sleeves, keeping them as an element of surprise.
As the title Kuro-Hana (Black Flower) suggests, the gown is mostly made of black material.
To remain faithful to the most modern version of the samurai armour, I did not want to use a colourful annexation of fabrics. I chose one of my favorote two-shade combinations, the classical black accompanied by a creamy beige. I placed the pale shaded fabric exactly under the black pyramidal structures to make them pop.
Before I started to work on my garment I made a lot of sketches, from which I selected two of my favorites to guide me.

DETAIL ILLUSTRATIONS
HAUTE COUTURE
I liked so much these garment illustrations that I felt the need to name them. I chose exotic, unusual names based on the most proeminent element from the creations.
Shikoba (meaning feather)
For this gown my inspiration came fom birds. On the lower part, I decided to apply golden accents of colour and ondulated motions which form a feathery design, leaving the upper part, a simple asimetric printed fabric.
Atargatis
The second dress that I illustrated was also inspired by an animal. The upper part of the gown was made of a scale structure and the lower part is a flowy, transparent material, resembling the tail of a Siamese Fighting Fish.

Satin
When I drew this gown I was thinking of black satin. The upper part is formed by a corset that has its sides made of wire, so it forms a see through pattern. The bottom part is made of a simple layered design.
I sketched the garment with two distinct designs: the firts contains more satin and the second has a decorative embroidment on the fabric, just under the corset.
Two shoe designs
Lawsonia (Henna)
I drew this garment inspired by the henna plant and the art of temporary tattooing. This creation is divided in two parts. The front is made fom lace ( which has the henna inspired design) and the back is made from black leather.
